CJ McCollum is a 6’9″ power forward who currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. He was drafted number three overall in the 2011 NBA draft out of Lehigh University. In his rookie season he averaged 12 points per game while shooting.484% from beyond the arc. His sophomore year saw him average 16 points per game while shooting 40% from behind the arc. Last season he improved even further, averaging 20 points per game while shooting 45% from deep.
McCollum’s career high in scoring came last season when he scored 32 points against the Houston Rockets. He shot 10-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from three point range. He also had five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.
The

question I have is how much should we expect him to improve? How much should we expect him shoot from outside the arc? Is it realistic to think he could hit 50% from long distance?
