Smith signed a four-year extension worth $66 million in March 2019. He’ll make $14.8 million in 2020, $15.8 million in 2021, $16.8 million in 2022 and $17.8 million in 2023.The Bears have until July 15 to decide whether to pick up their fifth-year option on Smith. If they don’t, he becomes a free agent after the season.Smith had been dealing with a hamstring injury since Week 2. He missed three games before returning in Week 6.
