The Los Angeles Lakers faced severe backlash when they traded for Russell Westbrook. It was an odd fit from the start, and time did little to ease their chemistry woes on the court.
Of course, having Anthony Davis out for most of the season didn't do much to help their winning cause, either. But Westbrook drew most of the blame for the Lakers' struggles.
The Lakers reportedly tried to trade Westbrook to get Kyrie Irving. But the Brooklyn Nets plan to run it back and have no intention of moving Kyrie anymore.
Westbrook also wanted to leave the team and even fired his agent to try and get it done. But there have been no takers for his $47 million contract, so they're pretty much stuck with each other.
Also, Thompson believes that new coach Darvin Ham will be able to hold all of his stars accountable and predicts he'll bring the best out of Westbrook:
But even if Westbrook is back to his old self, ESPN's expert panel doesn't think so. In fact, they foresee them to be a borderline playoff team:
The Lakers' Big 3 has untapped potential if they get on the same page and stay healthy. But that are way too many 'ifs.'
