Jackson said something during the 2018 NBA Finals broadcast that fans misconstrued
NBA broadcast commentator Mark Jackson is trending on Twitter due to his 2018 comments regarding the wife of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron JamesSavannah James.
Savannah turned 36 years of age Saturday and NBA Twitter was quick to comment “Mark Jackson was right” on a video of her entering her birthday celebration alongside her husband.
The comment is in reference to Jackson’s “with all due respect” origin story that occuered during the 2018 NBA Finals broadcast.
Fans misconstrued what Jackson said, took it out of context, and have been running with it ever since.
When speaking about Savannah’s days as a high school softball pitcher, Jackson’s broadcast partner Jeff

Van Gundy brought up an ongoing debate between the two.
Van Gundy said that even though Jackson believes he could hit at least one out of 10 pitches from an MLB pitcher, he doesn’t think he would even get a hit on Savannah.
“I’m shocked you downplayed Savannah. He [LeBron] said she was All-City,” Jackson said. “And I would hit her out the park, no question, with all due respect.”
Jackson was esentially telling Van Gundy that Savannah is likely a great pitcher but that he’s confident he would still connect on her pitch.
The entire conversation started when their boroadcast partner Mike Breen brought up an interview by King James ahead of Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.
Van Gundy said his favorite part of the interview was when LeBron spoke about Savannah’s softball career, making way for Jackson’s infamous response.
Despite the confusion, one misconstrued comment by Jackson made fans realize that Savannah is actually extremely attractive, with all due respect.
