There is still more than a month to go before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, but don’t fret, hoopheads. EuroBasket action is here for your entertainment.
The European basketball tournament is back for the first time since 2017, and a few of the biggest names in basketball will be participating in this year’s competition.
Luka Doncic will look to lead Slovenia to back-to-back EuroBasket championships, but two-time NBA MVP award winners Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece) and Nikola Jokic (Serbia) will make their countries serious contenders. And let’s not forget about France, an experienced squad led by Rudy Gobert and Evan Fournier.

Antetokounmpo, Doncic headline NBA stars to watch at EuroBasket 2022
The group phase for EuroBasket 2022 will begin on Thursday, Sept. 1, and end on Thursday, Sept. 8. The knockout phase will begin on Saturday, Sept. 10 and end with the championship game on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Twenty-four nations will participate in EuroBasket 2022. Those teams will be split into four groups. (Full rosters can be found here.)
Each team will play five games in the group phase. The top four teams from each group will then move to the knockout phase and play win-or-go-home games until a champion is crowned.
